The first book in Clare Rhoden's dystopian survival series, The Pale, was published by Odyssey Books in 2017. Clare lives in Melbourne Australia with her husband Bill, their super-intelligent poodle-cross Aeryn, a huge and charming parliament of visiting magpies, and a very demanding/addictive garden space. The world of the Pale was inspired by the world's refugee crisis, and the fascinating intersections of technology, climate, humanity, and other species.
