About the author

I was born in Cádiz (Spain) in 1950 and I retired in Murcia in 2010. Between those two dates I grew up and studied English and Esperanto at the University of La Laguna, Canary Islands, where I graduated in the first of those languages, which I did high school teacher after two years of further study in Great Britain.
Five years before retiring I wrote a book in three years, which was published on March 20, 2017: "El amo de casa, or El pentaágono regular" (The Househusband, or the Regular Pentagon", published by Editorial Dédalo, in Barcelona.
Next I wrote "Tirolino's version, or The Rome servant", which I finished in just two years and published in 2012 with Editorial MurciaLibro. It is a story of more than three hundred pages that tells the life of a boy who travels all the strata of Roman society at the time of the emperors of the Julia dynasty.
It would be followed by the first book I published on paper, "Long live the Republic!", In 2011, with Editorial Sombra de Arce and which I republished in 2013 with the publishing house "La rosa de papel" (the rose of paper), from Murcia. It is a novel of only 44 pages full of pedagogical claims and of being the bedside book of all those people who yearn for collective political freedom, which is still unknown in Spain.
Then I wrote "Amen", which derives from a series of stories grouped together under the name of "The saga of the Lord's Prayer" because each of the stories that compose it is entitled one of the verses of the most famous prayer of humanity, which according to our tradition was taught by Jesus Christ to his apostles. "Amen" is the last verse, and yet it is the longest story, as it consists of four parts, to which I later added another six chapters and turned it into a novel the intrigue of which starts at the Hereafter.
This novel was followed by a trilogy called "Transgression", because it tells how matter is transgressed to reach the spiritual world. The whole process is narrated in the first volume, "La cronista, or Los amos del tiempo" (The chronist, or Masters of Time), the protagonist of which is a woman who travels through time and meets a school teacher in a remote country when she goes around the world . This book raises many questions, which are solved in a simple and sympathetic way. Its sequel is the second volume, "Trichrona, or The Other Side of Creation", in which we are presented with the birth of a continent and the Goddess of Music. The third volume presents the protagonists of the previous two turned into secondary characters, since the main ones are now by the Emperor of the Irkil and the Popess of Rodio, two ill-aligned planets in a remote solar system.
To commemorate Children's Book Day in 2012, I wrote a children's story: "The Soldier and the Witch", which I also translated into English and published both on Amazon. The Esperanto version is published in its full text on the website mentioned above.
Since the world was going to end on December 21, 2012, according to the Mayans, I wrote my particular vision of what it would be like, based on the illusion of a child by the sea, which he meets when he grows up. That is the theme of "Final Voyage", in which we see how the mature Michel de la Bordière participates in a singular rescue on the high seas, walks through the Canary Islands and then is stunned when he arrives in America, after having had a somewhat eventful trip. It is a tribute to Hemingway, Verne, London, Conrad and in general to all those writers who have written about the sea, although there are no pirates or unpleasant people, because there is nothing as imposing as nature itself when it it is shown in al its greatness and generosity at the same time.
In "Grandpa and I" I wanted to pay tribute to all the grandparents and grandchildren who have been in the world, who have been almost all of us who succeeded to comb gray hair. It is a simple story that is read in one sitting, although it has two shocking turning points in two key moments of the story, which nevertheless require the reader to be attentive not to miss them, since it is not easy to see them coming.
I took part in a unique project with four other authors who publish in Amazon, which we called "Los obscuros" (the dark ones), and not happy with having successfully carried it out, I decided to write my experience in a novel within another novel, and which I titled "A singular project", that narrates the vicissitudes of four writers, two of each sex, to write among all of them the life of an ordinary man who nevertheless had happiness tattooed inside him on fire, and that is why he made everyone who approached him happy. . It was a delight to write and I am very pleased that I did.
With a Granada-born colleague who goes by the pseudonym La Dama, I wrote a short story "La embaucadora" (The Swindler), in which we explore a story of adventure and romance. With the same author, I half wrote a novel, "Desencuentros" (Disagreement), which tells on the fabric of intrigues and troubles among the members of a large conglomerate of European companies that extends its empire to the United States, within a genre that is now called "Cross border", that is, polygeneric: adventures, romance, and existential doubts that are related to the Hereafter.
I also wrote a book halfway with Jack Crane entitled "The Johnny", in which he presents the problem of a man who consumes the services offered by prostitutes, and the problem that arises when he meets one of them, that He completely rethinks his life and customs, until he becomes another man. We also co-wrote the other two books: "La redención de Ecolgenia" (Ecolgenia's Redemption), which is a very hard and very long ecologist chant: it has just over 800 pages in the paper version published by the publisher "El fantasma de los Sueños" (Dreams ghost), and also "When the Martians invaded Earth ", which is a very light version of the previous one, although it may offend delicate palates. because it is frankly much more pessimistic, even if it has three different ends.
I also wrote a book of fantastic-mystical stories, "The Book of Angelic Chronicles and Diabolical Anecdotes", in which three other writers have also participated with a story each: Gema Gimeno Giménez, Anne Lake, and Jack Crane, who was the 2018 Book of the Year and therefore it could be read for free in my three languages at the url mentioned above, and I also produced two books in English, "The Year I Was a Woman" (translated into Spanish and published on Amazon) and "Oumou, the Ebony Hetaera", which is the second volume of the Prostitution Trilogy, despite the fact that the first volume is in Spanish and the second in English (although I later translated it and shared as the free for reading The 2019 Book of the year). The third book in the trilogy was finished in 2020: "El proxeneta feliz" (The Happy Pimp), which will be translated into English in short.
Currently I have published a total of 63 works of varying length both on paper and digitally, the updated reference of which can always be found at www.obracompleta.com.
"Officer and Dancer" presents the contrast between two very uneven lives: that of a Nazi SS officer during World War II, and that of a tantric dancer in a country thousands of kilometers and hundreds of years away from the officer. The story is not always nice to read, as it has harsh events, and yet it shows lights in the shadows, and an evident optimism, despite everything. I have recently published. On the other hand, I published "I was always close to you", which is a hymn to fidelity, love and art.
I have made a succinct account of the books that I have published in Amazon, but I have some more on Wattpad for free reading: 1 A sacred story, 2 Let's see if I understand (essays), 3 The book of scoundrel haikus, 4 School of writers, 5 The saga of the Our Father (actually included in my book I'm telling you, my first book of stories), and 6 Listen to me (the second one).
For three years I edited and published a ten-volume anthology, called "Story Factory", which consists of 113 different stories from the pen of 39 different writers from various countries, although most of us are Spanish. It will be translated into English eventually.
Since then I have continued writing, having published a few weeks ago "The seven deadly sins" which makes the number 63 of those I have published, and I currently have others in the process of writing.
I do not give much news of my personal biography because I think that the important thing about an author is his work, and his life is something accidental and accessory, and what matters is the work, not the author.
The updated information of my works is always in http://www.obracompleta.com/English
I always appreciate the comments that my readers send me, because they help me to conform to retouch my works, because they give me a vision from other angles, and that is very useful to me. Thanks to all of you.
