From the Author

This book was a collaboration between KH Bixby and Holly Barbo.

About the Author

As a person who views news and politics with the fascination of watching a train-wreck, Bixby is driven to extract what IS discussed and twist it into the light of what ISN'T. Writing fiction, but keeping it within parameters of the believable and possible, K.H.'s thrillers grab the reader, causing them to wonder ... is the story real?

Wow! This sequel to Shell Game has exceeded the first book. In Minefield, we see the continuation of the story of New Yorker Sam Turan and the literal plundering of Jarinistan, his homeland. The plot definitely thickens, going darker. This one moves at a fast pace, throwing in shocking twists and turns all the way until the end. As political dramas go, this story does not disappoint. Well written, well researched, mixing fact and fiction masterfully. K.H.Bixby hit the sweet spot! Minefield could be a front page story in any major newspaper today. A must read!

An enjoyable fast paced action adventure with a mix of characters, both good and evil, a likeable hero, and some great locations in the fictional country of the Jaharin (which I guess was inspired by a sort of mix of Armenia and Palestine). As far as the political scenario goes, there are no real surprises, but the book is a page turner and a fun read.

A real page turner ! I love books that don't let you know who all the bad guys are. This was no exception. There was a surprise waiting in the wings. Thanks so much for sharing this with your readers! It was a pleasure to be able to just lose yourself in this plot. The images of the scenes were so vivid, you felt as if you were there.

It was a bit of a random decision on my part to read this book, based purely on a reference in the synopsis to the main character working for Heidelberg bank, the city where my partner is from and a place I love. Luck was on my side and I stumbled across a really good thriller despite Heidelberg not really featuring! Sam, the main protagonist, is very likable with his heart very much in the right place. He cares for his friends and his homeland. There is plenty of action and a good plot which moves along quickly to a satisfying conclusion. A good way to spend a few hours if you like thrillers.

This story is filled with action and intrigue - a crime novel with interesting characters and a good plot; if not original.

It is well-written and would definitely appeal to those who enjoy this genre.

A worthwhile read.

I picked this one up because I'd read the first and enjoyed it. The story picks up after the events of book one, with Sami and Jazzy-cat healing nicely. Of course not all is what it seems to be as the story continues. I loved the first and loved the sequel. The book is fast-paced and well written in the way that has you sitting there trying to reach the end to see what life lays in store for Sami and the others. With a twist that you won't see coming, the ending leaves more questions and I can't wait for the third. Highly recommended!

K.H. Bixby knows her stuff. The research she must do to write and easily convey the intricacies of the world banking system and assorted covert activities, while keeping the story of Sam Turan moving along at a fast clip is amazing. I believe K.H. Bixby has found her niche writing political thrillers and I hope she continues to run with it.
