    Another great story from Autumn Sand! She is amazing in how she tells both sides of a story. She give me preconceived notions about a character then when that character gets their story...I am in awe of what has made them how they are today. She breaks them down and build them back up. In the previous book he was Tick. In this book we get to know Dante...another side of him.

    Tick..Tick..Tick! How I have come to like you. I like how you got your nickname. I like how you are a strong personality but don’t push all the time. I like how you are with Cyma.

    Cyma! You are amazing! I am glad Tick showed up that night and met you. He has become so cute since meeting you. Don’t tell him I said that...he would probably have a coronary.

    It’s great spending time with Anaya, Tony and the boys. They have such a great camaraderie between them. Wonderful characters and crazy good story!

    My fav line in the story—

    “No one is perfect and no one’s life is a fairy tale. We just hope to have those fairy tale moments from time to time. “

    This is such a true statement! Whether you are a fictional character or not.

    This is the first book that I've read by this author and I can't wait for more! It is book two, but it's a standalone series and a must read! Your emotions will be all over and this has loss, love, action, suspense...you name it, this book has it! This book is about Tick/Dante who works for Tony, a guy who is trying to make all his business legit. Tick is his right hand man and he's suffered a lot, before he ended up in the Tri-State area. One night, he saves Cyma, from some muggers. Cyma is a single mom, whose four year old daughter is really sick. She works two jobs to pay for the hospital bills and medicine that her daughter needs. Tick and Cyma keep running into each other after that, but she keeps blowing him off because she doesn't have the extra time and because of who he works for. Tick won't give up that easily though, and they realize they have more in common than they thought. However, there's someone who doesn't like that Tony's going legit and knows that Cyma is the way to get to Tick. There are secrets that are kept and hot as sin parts! Along with some funny banter between the two! Will one have to let the other go to protect the other? Will the other understand or will it cause even more issues?

    I suggest you read this book after Bedlam, Bonded and Impact. Each can be standalone, but these books are so fantastic read in order with the main characters making an appearance in each book. Dante, AKA Tick, doesn't do relationships after losing his fiance and his unborn son on the day of their wedding 10 years ago. He saves Cyma from being mugged and can't get her out of his head. Cyma only has one goal - to work and provide for her daughter Leila, who has leukemia. She doesn't trust easily and has scars from her life before. Her ex-husband abandoned her and Leila when they found out she was sick. All that Dante wants to do now is rescue Cyma and her daughter. Will these two be able to get past all the hurdles thrown in their way? Go on another wild ride full of hot scenes, family, friendship, danger, violence, fear, love and more. Fantastic read and so worth the time. Love these books so much.

    I am that gal that cannot read a book if I do not read the book (or books) that lead up to it no matter if it can be read as a standalone. While I liked the story of Tony and Anaya... I loved the story of Dante and Cyma. 

    Dante. He knows heartbreak. He knows war. He knows the mob. He knew love once upon a time. 

    Cyma. She knows heartbreak. She knows struggle. She knows heartache. She believes in a world where there is no happily ever after in life. 

    Dante is at the right place at the right time and saves Cyma from a fate that would set her life down a path that would destroy her more than she already is. In doing so, he opens his heart to feelings that he hasn't felt in years that alters his path and ultimately, Cyma's. 

    Mayhem is a book that is full of just that...mayhem. Dante and Cyma have to learn how to heal from their past as they learn how to love in the present and look ahead  to their future.

    Mayhem is the second book in A Twisted Hearts Love Story Series by Autumn Sand. WOW… I was expecting this book to be good, but Ms. Sand has really excelled herself. I LOVED the first book in the series and I really didn’t think any further installments would have quite the same effect on me- but I was wrong, this story has nudged ahead by a whisker as my firm favourite- so far. Ms. Sands has released installments of such a high calibre and has created the impressive foundations of a truly is superb series.
    I loved Tick (Dante) after meeting him in the first book- ‘Bedlam’ which is Tony and Anaya’s story. He intrigued me and I wanted to know more about him, so I was excited to learn he would be getting his own book.
    The ghosts of the past torment him- there isn’t a day that goes by without regret. Tick hoped that the pain of his loss would lessen by now, but he seems to be stuck in one of the stages of grief and can’t seem to find a way through. He has carried the weight of grief and guilt around for the past ten years, using women and alcohol to ‘numb’ his misery- if only for a little while.
    Losing his Fiancée and their unborn baby in a horrific accident while on the way to get married has torn his heart apart and left him a shattered man. He joined the Marines the day of the funeral and spent many years diving headlong into danger, a punishment for not being able to prevent their death.

    “Guilt hits me as it always does when I think of her. Why am I alive, but she and my son are not? I went into the Marines hell-bent on finding death, always volunteering for the most dangerous missions. Only to come back heavily decorated with a Medal of Honor and not in a coffin as I’d hoped. If only I could be with them again, if I could hold Kayla one last time and tell her how much I love her.”

    He doesn’t date and he certainly doesn’t do relationships. He only ‘hooks up’ with women as a way to forget for a few short moments. He has friends and is often surrounded by people, but he lives a lonely existence. He hasn’t felt a connection with anyone, since his fiancée; so the last thing he expected was to be completely enthralled by a stunningly beautiful stranger. She had found herself in a bit of a predicament, when he heroically came to her rescue. But after quickly thanking him, she disappears into a crowded street, leaving Tick trying to figure out what just happened and processing his feelings.
    A few nights later, he encounters her again in the most unlikely of places. He hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her and is determined to find out as much about her as possible. But this enchanting woman, with an appealing air of innocence about her seems determined to keep him at a distance.
    Cyma hasn’t had an easy life. She has had to fight and struggle her way through life. She has experienced more heartache and pain than she thought she would be able to endure. When this handsome and charming man came to her rescue, she can’t help but to consider him to be her knight in shining armour. And this is the city; no one does something nice without a price, do they? And anyway, he is really way out of her league. She has serious trust issues, as well as a very complicated life- so she does what she knows best- flees.
    When he re-enters her life a few nights later, she is surprised as well as a little intrigued. He has been on her mind since they first met and she can’t help fantasising about him. But she doesn’t have the time or energy for dating, let alone a relationship- plus, she wouldn’t want to subject him to all the chaos in her life. This isn’t some sweet fairy tale, unfortunately this is her difficult reality.
    But Tick is determined to get to know her and relentlessly pursues her, until she agrees to go out on a date with him. But with all the baggage and secrets they both have, is there any chance that they can truly connect? What happens when their baggage is revealed? What secrets are they keeping? Will he embrace a future with Cyma, or will he let the pain and grief of the past overwhelm him and cause him to lose this chance of finding true happiness? Can Cyma learn to trust again, dismantle her defences and let him into her heart and life? Will they both finally be able to heal?
    This story is packed full of drama, suspense, danger, excitement, violence, action- as well as being a very erotic romance. Ms. Sand really built the tension in the storyline, as well as between the main characters. She has a dynamic, detailed, seductive and spicy writing style that completely captivated me from the beginning of the story right through to the end.
    The characters are really beautifully written, they are perfect- they were developed in such a way that they are really believable and relatable. What they have gone through and had to endure really made me feel for them. They have strengths and flaws that combined to make them realistic and endearing. I was drawn to them from the beginning, connecting with them and their story. The cast of characters are like one big family and I liked feeling a part of that while on this journey with them through the story.
    I am already excitedly anticipating the next instalment of this brilliant series from Ms. Sand.
    I really recommend this book- as it is a really wonderful, entertaining and riveting read!
